Student Appreciation Week is a tradition at Gravette High School to show students how much they are valued. The Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) club launched the event and continues to coordinate the activities each year.
The week includes daily surprises and a personalized handwritten note for every student in the building. It also features unscripted video messages where teachers tell students directly what they appreciate in their character, hard work, or kindness toward others. Set up in Mr. Dungan's podcast space, this year's video has a real professional audio presentation.
Simple acts of kindness stood out the most in what teachers recognized. Students who pull up a chair at lunch to talk about classic movies and brighten the table. Others leave handwritten letters for their teachers to read on tough days. Some students walk up to their teachers to ask what needs to be done next before a single instruction is given. Whether it is a freshman who brings laughter to every lesson or a senior who helps with daily tasks, these actions have a real impact on teachers. And that is worth celebrating each year. Thank you to the students who create meaningful moments at school.
