Gravette High School Presents: Aliceโs Adventures in Wonderland
[Gravette, Arkansas] โ โBe what you seem to be.โ Lewis Carrollโs Aliceโs Adventures in Wonderland has been told and retold countless times throughout historyโin books, live-action movies, animated films, and more. Now, the Gravette High School Theatre Department is bringing this beloved story to life in a way youโve never seen before.
โWeโre moving this production of Alice in Wonderland from the stage into the audience, involving not only the cast but the audience as well,โ says Ian Galloway, the director.
With a dynamic blend of projections, lights, sound, and improvisation, this production will transport the audience directly into Wonderland, immersing them in the madness of Aliceโs journey from the moment they step into the building. The show will feature a fresh musical scoreโreimagined by Ian Gallowayโand an original song written by one of GHS Theatreโs very own.
โThe music is unlike anything weโve done in our PAC before. Itโs filled with rich involvement from the cast and director. I feel like weโve created a show thatโs not only visually stunning but sonically captivating,โ says Kaiden Walls, who plays the King of Hearts.
Embrace the weirdness of Wonderland and experience it all as if you were Alice herself. This adaptation explores not only Aliceโs descent into madness but also her journey toward finding peace within it.
โItโs an immersive show about what it means to be human,โ says Jerri Notestine, who plays the Queen of Hearts.
