Cory Briggs holding his A Cut Above Award with the School Board and a group of students

Cory Briggs recently received the Cut Above Award from the Gravette School Board. Serving as the middle school assistant principal, Mr. Briggs cares incredibly deeply and spends many extra hours ensuring all student and staff needs are met. Although his job often involves discipline, he constantly makes the effort to coach kids through their mistakes, teaching them the value of honesty and ownership of their decisions.

He also goes above and beyond to support teachers when they need help, working hard to show how much they are appreciated by planning celebrations of their work and achievements. On top of all that, his dedication to the kids extends far beyond his role as assistant principal. He spends extra time outside of the office, serving as a baseball coach for the Gravette Youth Organization and a travel organization with Gravette players.

Cory is more than just an Assistant Principal. In the short time he has been here, he has become an invaluable member of the GMS family, and we couldn't do this job without him. He is here for the kids and wants to be a man they can respect, trust, and admire. Thank you, Mr. Briggs, for all you are doing for our students and community, you make a difference.
