The annual Hall of Honor induction serves to recognize individuals whose extraordinary athletic achievements, dedicated leadership, and selfless service have built the foundation of Lion athletics, preserving Gravette's rich sports tradition and inspiring future generations of student-athletes.
Mitchell Wilber

Mitchell Wilberโs athletic journey stands as a unique chapter in Gravette history. Named an All-District football selection in 1970, Mitchell also excelled on the baseball diamond despite Gravette High School not having an official baseball program at the time. His exceptional talent earned him a full collegiate scholarship, which he parlayed into a remarkable coaching career where he guided teams to District and Regional titles, State Tournament appearances, and a state-record 25 consecutive victories. Inducted into the Crowder College Baseball Hall of Fame for his lifelong achievements, Mitchell was presented with his award by his daughters, Kamron Whitehead and Kori Wilber.
Melissa Fullmer

Melissa Fullmer established herself as one of the most decorated female athletes in school history through dominant performances in basketball, softball, and track. She finished her high school career with 2,180 pointsโa Gravette basketball scoring record that stood for 30 yearsโwhile earning two All-State selections, 1-AA Player of the Year honors, USA Today All-American Honorable Mention, and the 1997 Gold Lion Award. Melissa continued her athletic career at the collegiate level, earning NJCAA All-American honors at Crowder College before leading Northeastern State University in scoring and rebounding. Her award was presented by her former coach, Carl Scott.
Ethan McKinzie

Ethan McKinzie set a standard of excellence as a powerhouse two-sport star in football and baseball. As Gravetteโs all-time career leader in passing yards (3,915) and touchdowns (69), he led the 2007 football team to the programโs only State Semifinal appearance while earning two All-State selections. On the diamond, the three-time All-State pitcher became Gravetteโs career strikeout leader before competing at the NCAA Division I level for the University of Central Arkansas, where he threw a complete-game NCAA Regional victory over 2013 College World Series runner-up Mississippi State. His award was presented by his brother and coach, Seth McKinzie.
Bobby Galyean (Posthumous Inductee)

A true pioneer of Lion athletics, Bobby Galyean played on Gravetteโs very first football team in 1955 before leaving school to enlist in the United States Marine Corps. Upon returning to Gravette in 1960, he embarked on more than 50 years of selfless volunteer service to the athletic program. Over five decades, Bobby was a constant and beloved presence at athletic events, serving on the football chain gang, operating game clocks, and keeping statistics across football, basketball, and baseball. Remembered as one of the community's most loyal and dedicated supporters, his award was presented by former Athletic Director Norman Mitchell and accepted on his behalf by Brenda Galyean, Tim Galyean, and Carla Eggebrecht.
Bruce Bayley (Posthumous Inductee | Class of 1976)

A quintessential multi-sport athlete, Bruce Bayley excelled across football, basketball, golf, and tennis while also serving as Student Council President during his senior year. He served as quarterback and captain for the 1975 football team, captured the 1975 Class A Golf State Championship, and finished as the 1976 State Tennis Runner-Up in his first-ever high school tournament. Known for his dependability, relentless work ethic, and community leadership, Bruce continued supporting Gravette youth sports and Lion athletics long after graduation. His award was presented by Mitchell Wilber and accepted on his behalf by Alicia Bayley, Morgan Bayley, and Jessica Bayley.
