Middle school athletics mark the very beginning of a student's competitive sports journey. During these foundational years, coaches do far more than teach basic rules and plays. They teach young Lions how to train, build daily habits, and navigate growth. Whether encouraging a runner through their first cross-country mile, refining soccer footwork, or shouting play calls at the line of scrimmage, what coaches build with young people is foundational for life, not just sports.
That is why we want to thank the coaching staff here at Gravette Middle School:
๐ Darrin Wegner, Football Assistant Coach
๐ฅ Kevin Cole, Softball Assistant Coach
๐ Clark Brewington, Boys Basketball Assistant Coach
โฝ Erik Smith, Boys Soccer Head Coach
๐ Madie Edwards, Track Head Coach
โฝ Ally Ribar, Girls Soccer Assistant Coach
๐ Jonathon Wood, Cross Country Head Coach
๐ James McVay, Volleyball and Track Assistant Coach
And we canโt forget the coaches who werenโt available for picture dayโwhich was also pajama day.
๐ฃ Michelle Bohannon, Middle School Cheer Head Coach
โณ Natalie Bolick, Golf Head Coach
โณ Blake Boyd, Golf Assistant Coach
โณ Jared Williams, Golf Assistant Coach
๐ Drue Lindsey, Cross Country and Wrestling Assistant Coach
These coaches lead athletes of all ages, but GMS Lions are especially close to these great teachers and staff. Thank you to these mentors for laying the groundwork of Lion athletics, and guiding our young athletes through their formative middle school years. A special thank you to Gravette Sonic Store #4183 for providing free item gift certificates to all of our coaches and showing strong support for our school community. ๐ฆ๐งก #LionPride #GravetteSchools#GravetteSchools

Coleman demonstrated the science of liquid nitrogen at -321 degrees, showing how it freezes ice cream in 30 seconds. She also covered key marketing concepts, using Nike as an example to explain how branding connects a product to its audience.
Students examined the realities of starting a company, including job creation, financial risk, and continuous work. Seeing scientific principles applied in a local business shows middle schoolers how classroom concepts translate directly into tangible career paths.
Thank you to Marshae's Sweet Escape for sharing business insights and treats with our middle schoolers. Practical visits like this give students a clear view of local innovation and career paths. ๐ฆ๐งก #LionPride #GravetteSchools

๐ Gravette Middle School celebrated National Custodian Appreciation Day today to recognize custodial team members Sherry Lowery and Jennifer Knox for everything they do. Staff treated them to a warm, home-cooked meal at a specially set dining table complete with cards and gifts, while students shared personal words of thanks throughout the day.
Director of Maintenance and Transportation Richard Carver and Administrative Assistant Melissa White traveled over for both shifts to deliver personalized mini trash cans packed with their favorite drinks and treats. The note read "We'd be a mess without you!"
Middle school is a place of endless energy, busy hallways, and constant activity. Keeping our building spotless and welcoming through all that movement takes steady care. Miss Sherry and Miss Jennifer make it easy to take pride in every corner of our school. Thank you, Sherry and Jennifer, for providing the clean foundation that makes learning possible! ๐ฆ๐งก #LionPride #GravetteSchools
