Gravette Upper Elementary had the chance to travel to the high school and enjoy the play from Gravette High School's Theatre Program! For many of these young audience members, it was their very first experience with live theater. Mr. Galloway opened the presentation by telling the kids the High School Drama class chose to perform "Rhubarb Jam" specifically because Elementary students would enjoy the colorful, high-energy play.
Not only did they get to enjoy a fantastic show, but they also saw what’s possible for them in the future as part of our school’s theater program. It was a wonderful way for younger students to connect with their older peers and be inspired by the dedication and talent on stage. Thank you to our high school actors and crew for sharing the magic of theater with these bright young minds! #LionPride

All are welcome to join us on Nov 21 at 7:45am for coffee and breakfast snacks while we discuss the Title I Program at Glenn Duffy Elementary, Upper Elementary, and Gravette Middle School. We will give an overview of the program, discuss student goals, share parental involvement opportunities, and there will be a Q&A session. We will have representatives from all three schools, so all parents are welcome!
Title I is a federally funded program that provides extra academic support to students in the areas of reading and/or math. One of the goals of the program is to improve the academic achievement of the students who struggle the most. The purpose of the title is to ensure that all children have an equal and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education. According to the U.S. Department of Education, students should be able to reach, at minimum, proficiency on the challenging state academic assessments and standards.
Join us Nov 21 at 7:45am in the Lion Community Center (beside administration building). The meeting will last around 30 minutes.

We're hiring bus drivers and we'll pay for training! If you know anyone who needs a great part-time job with flexible hours, health and retirement benefits, and opportunities for additional hours, send them to https://www.gravetteschools.net/drive and fill out an application today.

Gravette High School held the annual Veterans Day Assembly this year with an impressive ceremony. WoodmenLife presented the flag as Military Personnel, Veterans, and First Responders stood to be recognized for their service to our country and community. Sgt. Robert Huff from our local Marine office spoke to students, followed by a presentation by Sal Gonzalez, an Iraq war veteran of the Wounded Warrior Project. Thank you to our guests and staff for making this day of recognition for Veterans meaningful.
On Veterans Day we recognize the remarkable men and women who have served their country. From those on the front lines to those providing critical support behind the scenes, every service member forms a network of strength, skills, and resilience that keeps our armed forces operating and defending us all. Today, we express our gratitude for every veteran, in every role, who has contributed to safeguarding our freedom and well-being. Thank you for your service.
"On Veterans Day we honor all,
Who answered to a service call.
Soldiers young, and soldiers old,
Fought for freedom, brave and bold.
Some have lived, while others died,
And all of them deserve our pride. "
- “Veterans Day” by Cheryl Dyson

Congratulations to Mrs. Robinson at Upper Elementary on her $500 award from Arvest Bank's “We Love Teachers” initiative!
With this generous gift from Arvest, Mrs. Robinson will expand our calming centers and provide sensory-friendly resources to help students develop essential self-regulation and conflict-resolution skills. These resources give our kids the tools they need to find calm, focus, and confidence—skills they’ll carry far beyond the classroom.
Dr. Barrett nominated Mrs. Robinson because of her true passion and dedication to our students. In addition to being a devoted counselor, she also runs leadership programs including Business Buddies. This program has local professionals, including one of our very own Arvest moms, engage with students to explore different fields and gain hands-on insights into economics and business.
A special thanks to Arvest Bank for recognizing the importance of counselors like Mrs. Robinson. Your support reminds us all of the critical role counselors play in helping our children thrive. 💙 #ArvestLovesTeachers #LionPride

🏅 Incredible finishes for Gravette Cross Country at the 2024 Arkansas State Championships! 🏅
Our Lions gave it their all on the course in Hot Springs! Both teams fought hard against the best in the state, with the Boys team finishing as 4A State Runner-Up, missing the championship by just 1 point! The Girls team secured a fantastic 3rd Place finish as they aimed for a 3-peat.
Big shout-out to Paxon Chernota, Cutter Franks, Litzy Garcia, and Kiera Ralph for placing in the top ten and bringing home individual medals! We’re so proud of the grit, determination, and sportsmanship shown by all our runners.
Special thanks to Coach Weller for his dedication and leadership this season—our teams couldn't have achieved this success without him! #LionPride

🗳️Today was voting day in Mrs. Crawford’s class! The kindergartners learned all about the voting process by reading "Duck for President". They had a lively discussion about the pros and cons of each candidate: 🦆 **Candidate Duck**, known for his charismatic quacking and promise of all-you-can-eat snacks, vs. 🚜 **Candidate Farmer Brown**, who vowed to bring fresh veggies and farm-fresh eggs to every table. 🌽
After hearing the arguments, it was time to cast their votes! The ballots were counted, and **Duck won by one vote!** 🎉🦆 The students got to experience the excitement of a mini election, learning firsthand what it's like to exercise their right to vote. It was such a special day in the classroom! 🗳️

Mr. Leach dropped a new science experiment this week... Literally! Students were challenged to design structures to protect eggs from a fall, prompting them to think creatively and critically. The design tests even involved a scissor lift for higher elevation than ever before. Smaller experiments earlier showed that not every design worked as intended, so each group adapted and improved on their designs for this ultimate test. Mr. Leach showed students how resilience and iteration are part of learning and the scientific method.
Huge thank you to 7 Brew for their campaign at our Homecoming game last week! They gave away 700 free drinks to attendees and seven of our staff were given the chance to kick a field goal to win a $100 gift card. Nick Newbill, a 2017 Gravette High School graduate spearheaded this campaign and thanked our staff for their support during his time in school. 7 Brew has also donated $7,500 to the Arkansas Children's Hospital in honor of Gravette High School.

The Homecoming pep rally was explosive! The cheer squad brought the energy, the band hyped the crowd, and the Homecoming Court looked sharp under the orange and black balloon arch 🦁🖤🧡 But the real highlight was students taking down teachers in a tug-of-war showdown!
