REMINDER ‼️ "Make Up Month" is over! We will be going back to our regular schedules as normal. We will see you tomorrow, lions! 🦁

The Gravette School District is deeply committed to the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and community. We want to commend the swift and diligent response of the Gravette Police Department for its partnership with us in ensuring the safety of everyone. As said by the Gravette Police Department's statement on their public Facebook page, "Just before 5 am Officers with the Gravette Police Department were notified of a subject with suicidal ideations possibly in the area of the Gravette High School. Officers of our department, aided by surrounding agencies responded to the area and made an immediate search given the information supplied at the time. No subjects were found in the area. With an abundance of caution, due to the proximity to the school, we coordinated with the Gravette Public Schools to delay the start of the Gravette High School. At no time was there a threat to the school district, any students, or faculty. We greatly appreciate the coordination and efforts of our school staff, parents, and students for their understanding. The subject that made the original call has been located and there is no further concern. We would like to thank all of the Officers and agencies that assisted as well as the members of our community who aided in our efforts. Anyone needing assistance or having a family member struggling with ideas of self-harm can reach the suicide hotline by dialing 988."
The safety of our students and staff is our top priority, and we are incredibly thankful for the individuals of the Gravette Police Department who work tirelessly to keep all of our campuses safe. We also appreciate the trust and partnership of our parents when we make precautionary decisions associated with the safety of our students and staff.
We understand that situations like these can be concerning and we make every effort to provide the information we can while also keeping all individuals involved as safe as possible. We want to reassure our community that we are taking all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our students and staff, both physically and mentally. Our counselors are available to provide support to those who may need it.
Again, we want to thank the Gravette Police Department and all first responders for their swift action and dedication to keeping our schools and community safe. - Superindentent, Maribel Childress
