Don’t forget this week is homecoming! Tomorrow is dress in your pajamas day 💤 Friday at 10am is the homecoming parade 🥳 Down below is the parade route! ⬇️

In honor of homecoming next week, let's show our Lion PRIDE by making a Spirit Chain 🔗 The GDE PTO will be selling orange and black paper chain links starting Monday the 17th through Thursday the 20th (cut off at 3:30pm). These paper chains will hang on the fence at the Homecoming football game! If you are unable to print off the picture below, simply write on a piece paper your child's name, teacher, # of links wanted, $ sent and place paper and money in an envelope named "Homecoming Spirit Chain".

Thank you Alaina Carlton for the cute window art at GDE! 🍁 As Alaina was painting away, a kindergartner came up behind her and said "Hey, who gave you permission to write on the walls!" Custodian Brian had a good time explaining that one 😋 Our lions always keep us on our toes!

Congratulations to our GDE Student of the Week! 2nd-grader, Lylah Youngblood, is our winner. Mrs. Jones said, "Lylah is polite, respectful, and eager to help her peers. No matter the place, she is always demonstrating qualities of a great leader. In the hall, Lylah can be found walking with a purpose and careful not to disturb others. When Lylah is in the library she listens attentively, raises her hand before speaking, and always stays on task. This week Lylah wanted a specific book during library checkout. She waited patiently, without interruption, while I assisted the students before her. Her patience and gratitude is always appreciated" 🥰 Woo-hoo, Lylah! #GrowingLionLeaders

Today, Mrs. Rutledge’s class studied 3D shapes and made them using toothpicks and marshmallows. Learning is SO fun...and yummy 😋

Thank you to ALL who virtually attended the "Title 1" meeting last night. The winner of the Family Bucket is Taylor Campbell 🎉🎉🎉 Also, BIG THANK YOU to our sponsors who provided the goodies in the Family Bucket!

Last week, Coach Pittman's P.E classes were learning all about Speed Stacking aka Cup Stacking! These activities help promote eye-hand coordination and ambidexterity. Our Lions were using both sides of their brains and bodies! Nice work, GDE! 👏

Last night's Bikes, Books, and BBQ was a HIT! Thank you to ALL our GDE staff who made it possible and to our GDE parents and students who came out 🧡

This week and next week, 1st grade is taking turns going to a ONE ROOM schoolhouse! Some of our Lions said, "I can't believe this is what school was like in the 90s 🤯" 🤣🤣🤣

Yesterday, our school board came and ate lunch with our 1st graders! 😊 The chicken legs were good, but the conversations were even better! A BIG thank you to our school board for taking time out of their busy days to come and share a meal with our Lions. Happy hearts and happy tummies 🦁

Last Friday, Pre-K made homemade applesauce in honor of Johnny Appleseed 🍎 They rated it a BIG thumbs up!

GDE Lions had fun at the Superintendent's September Reading Award Luncheon on Friday. Keep up the great reading, Lions!

TAKE THE SUPERINTENDENT CHALLENGE!! Find Mrs. Childress at tonight's home football game and be one of the first 10 students or community members to accurately recite the district's vision statement, "We are Lion Pride! We lead the way in everything we pursue!" and receive a coupon for a free drink from the concession stand. Go Lions!

In honor of our big reveal of the Brandon Burlsworth's permanent plaque installation at the Concession stands at tonight's home football game, student Michael Garett brought the "Greater" movie poster AND a special picture to school with him today. ☺ In the picture, is Michael's father - Garrett Grant. He was a part of the fab 3 with Brandon Burlsworth. It is SO cool to see moments in Gravette's history being passed down from generation to generation 🦁

In honor of tomorrow being the start of National Principal's Month, take our Buzzfeed quiz to see which Gravette School District Principal you are 😋 Click here: https://www.buzzfeed.com/gravetteschooldistrict/answer-these-5-questions-and-well-tell-you-which-4cu3w5tuv6?utm_source=dynamic&utm_campaign=bfsharecopy
