The results are in and we have our winners from yesterday's First Annual In-House Automotive Competition. 👏 Congratulations to 1st place winner, Senior, Caleb Cynova!! In a turn of events, we have a tie for 2nd with two students in our afternoon class, therefore we will be doing a tiebreaker and it will be live-streamed! The BEST thing about all of our instructors is that they aren't afraid to get their hands dirty. Here at WBCCC, we understand that not every student learns the same. Some thrive with bookwork/presentations and others are more hands-on. Either way, every student has the opportunity to succeed here! #experiencethededication

Since our construction class is still working on their OSHA10 and our criminal justice course has gone virtual, get ready to see mainly welding & automotive content for a while! Anyways, take a look at this sculpture done by Decatur High School Senior, Mason Potter. He plans on taking it to the SkillsUSA comp. in April. AM welding students, Colby and ZJ, are working on their SkillsUSA Community project which is a firepit! When at skills, they will have to give a presentation to a table of 3-5 judges and explain their process and reasoning. Once back, the pair plains on donating the pit to Devil Den's State Park! 👌 #experiencethededication

Today, Mr. Simpson & Mr. Whiteside's welding classes got to take a field trip to NWTI where they were hosting schools from all over the country. Our students were exposed to the best of the best! Senior, Dillon Watson, took extra interest in Western Welding Academy from Gillette, Wyoming. #experiencethededication
It was a great first week back for our WBCCC students! The automotive students are working on tire rotations and suspension. The welding students had a representative from Army come to speak to them about employment opportunities. Say hello to WBCCC Senior Automotive Student, Daegan. 👋 Thanks to the knowledge gained in class and Mr. Willaby's connections in the automotive industry, Daegan is a proud employee at McLarty Daniel as a Lube Tech! When asked if this automotive course contributed to him landing the job, Daegan replied, "Yeah, of course. I knew a little about cars before but I have a better understanding and overall knowledge now. This class is definetly a plus on my resume."
