Our welding classes had a special visitor today! Mr. Tag Green gave our students a demonstration of the weld test they will be taking in two weeks. He has over 38 years of experience in the welding field and gave our students some great tips!

It's that time of year again! NWTI's 3rd Annual Trades Competition 🏆 It's open to JR & SR high students. The prizes and scholarships in the past years have been OUTSTANDING. 10/10 worth signing up for and competing in, students! Parents, make sure to mark your calendars and come out to enjoy some sweet cars and see our student's talents in action. NOTE: Mr. Simpson is still looking for sponsors, booth vendors, and donations to help with the prizes for winners. Let's come together as a community and reward these students for all the hard work they do! Anything helps! #experiencethededication

Congratulations to our students who traveled to SkillsUSA competition this week in Hot Springs, AR! Our welding and automotive students competed against 1000+ other students from all across Arkansas and...WE CAME HOME WITH SOME HARDWARE 🏆

Welding students, Ezeriah and Israel, made a picnic table and basketball rack for Gravette's Kindley Park as their community action project for SkillsUSA next week. W-O-W! Quality work, boys!

Next Monday-Wednesday, a select group of our welding and automotive students will be competing at SkillsUSA in Hot Springs! 👏 There will be over 1000 other students from all over Arkansas competing right alongside them. Monday is registration, Tuesday is competition day, and Wednesday is the award ceremony. We will post how our students did once we know (and pics from comp. day)! Good luck, students! #experiencethededication

An added benefit of being in the automotive program is that our students can work on their own cars! Saving a lot of money in the process. Gravette High School Senior, Morgan, is replacing the brakes on his Mustang. 🤙

The SkillsUSA competition is only a week away and our students are feeling the heat! Students Rowan Dake, Nic Hiett, and Jacob Sandoval are working as a fabrication team to perfect their welds while practicing on a fire pit octagon build. All three boys said, "Mr. Simpson told us it was comin' up quick, but man. It's literally right around the corner. We're ready though!"

Spring Break was relaxing and much needed, but our students are ready to get back to work! In our automotive shop, the boys worked on doing a tire rotation and balance. 👍 #experiencethededication

Gravette High School Junior, Will Davis, is working ahead and has already started attempting the 3G plate! Mr. Simpson said, "This his is second time trying and I'd say he passed. Very impressive!" #experiencethededication

The results are in and we have our winners from yesterday's First Annual In-House Automotive Competition. 👏 Congratulations to 1st place winner, Senior, Caleb Cynova!! In a turn of events, we have a tie for 2nd with two students in our afternoon class, therefore we will be doing a tiebreaker and it will be live-streamed! You'll have to come back at 12:30pm (ish) to see what it will be 👀 #experiencethededication

The BEST thing about all of our instructors is that they aren't afraid to get their hands dirty. Here at WBCCC, we understand that not every student learns the same. Some thrive with bookwork/presentations and others are more hands-on. Either way, every student has the opportunity to succeed here! #experiencethededication

Meet our other automotive instructor - Mr. Meredith! He splits his time between our campus and NWTI's campus. We are thankful to have him even if it's just a few days a week! #experiencethededication

Since our construction class is still working on their OSHA10 and our criminal justice course has gone virtual, get ready to see mainly welding & automotive content for a while! Anyways, take a look at this sculpture done by Decatur High School Senior, Mason Potter. He plans on taking it to the SkillsUSA comp. in April. We can't wait to see what placement he'll get with this masterpiece! 🏆 #experiencethededication

Meet our automotive instructor - Mr. Willaby! Or the kids like to call him "Mr. Willa-beast". 😆 #experiencethededication

A little behind-the-scenes action! 🎬 Two students from Gravette High School have been wandering our shops and collecting film for an upcoming promotional video that they are doing for WBCCC! We can't wait to see the end results. #experiencethededication

It's that time of year again! NWTI's 3rd Annual Trades Competition 🏆 It's open to JR & SR high students. The prizes and scholarships in the past years have been OUTSTANDING and we know they'll be just as good this year. 10/10 worth signing up for and competing in, students! Parents, make sure to mark your calendars and come out to enjoy some sweet cars and see our student's talents in action. #experiencethededication

AM welding students, Colby and ZJ, are working on their SkillsUSA Community project which is a firepit! When at skills, they will have to give a presentation to a table of 3-5 judges and explain their process and reasoning. Once back, the pair plains on donating the pit to Devil Den's State Park! 👌 #experiencethededication

Meet our other welding instructor - Mr. Simpson! #experiencethededication

It's time to hit the books for our automotive students! Mr. Willaby is breaking down the assembly of a steering column and how it works together with the overall front suspension of a vehicle. 🚗 #experiencethededication
