Kids stay safe when families know the procedures. Normal schedules continue for local town routes even when it snows. Rules remain in place for the whole day once limited service is announced in the morning. Families make the final choice on whether road conditions allow for school attendance. We look forward to seeing everyone next week after a safe weekend. Thank you for your help looking out for our lion pride. 🦁🧡 #LionPride #GravetteSchools
The drive surpassed expectations by achieving 120% of its original collection goal. Over 40 volunteers stepped forward to contribute, filling the schedule completely and requiring a waiting list. This response ensures that local hospitals have immediate access to life-saving supplies during a time of urgent need.
Huge thanks to Mrs. Hilger and her healthcare students for facilitating this event and managing the logistics throughout the day. Their leadership provided a direct avenue for our community to serve neighbors in need. 🦁🧡 #LionPride #GravetteSchools

Acceptance of this award will initiate a semester-long service project where three choir groups will travel to local senior facilities. These visits combine musical performance with designated time for students to enjoy the company of local seniors and create special intergenerational experiences.
Our community can look forward to hearing the distinct resonance of handbells enhancing our choir performances very soon. Thank you to Mrs. Galloway for the continued effort seeking new opportunities for our kids. We are also deeply grateful to the Peter R. Marsh Foundation for investing in our students and helping us bridge the gap between generations through music. 🦁🧡 #LionPride #GravetteSchools

Students in our agriculture mechanics classes applied their technical skills to design and construct these structures for placement at the First Christian Church of Gravette and Sulphur Springs City Park. These units are now active and ready for use by anyone in the region who requires assistance. The chapter is now launching a collection campaign for non-perishable goods and canned foods to ensure these pantries remain stocked for the public.
Community members may contribute to this effort by bringing donations to Mr. Malott or Ms. Macleod at the high school or by placing items directly into the boxes. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve our area through the hard work of our students. 🦁🧡 #LionPride #GravetteSchools

Supplies for almost all blood types (specifically O+, O-, A-, B-, B+, and AB-) are at dangerously low levels. As the donor center stated this morning, "In these conditions, a single patient can wipe out an entire blood type."

Donating blood is a practical service that strengthens the health of our region. The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks supplies all area hospitals, meaning every donation stays local to help neighbors in need. Donors will receive a free sweatshirt while supplies last and will be entered into a drawing for significant prizes as part of the 56-Day Challenge.
We invite eligible community members to reserve their time slot now. Students wishing to participate must pick up a consent form from Mrs. Hilger and return the signed document to her classroom before the event. Thank you to Mrs. Hilger for organizing this vital service project. 🦁🧡 #LionPride #GravetteSchools

🚓 Local Community Police Departments, including Gravette, Highfill, and Bella Vista, came together today to share the Christmas cheer with a group of wonderful Gravette kids for the 10th Annual "Shop With a Cop."
The morning began in the Gravette Upper Elementary cafeteria, where Resource Officer Crane surprised everyone in a festive light-up holiday suit that immediately had the children laughing. After officers drew names to find their partners, the pairs boarded a bus for a police-escorted caravan to the store. The kids explored the aisles with their officers, choosing gifts that fit their interests, from cameras and electronics to new toys and favorite accessories.
Following the shopping trip, the group traveled to the Civic Center where officers served a lunch of pizza, juice, and cookies. This meal was generously donated by the Phillips 66 Gravette Station, a strong supporter of Gravette Schools.
The kids showed thoughtful, steady character throughout the day. Even with the excitement of the season, they approached each moment with gratitude, asking politely for a single cookie when more were offered. We are proud of the character these young Lions displayed and thankful for the community fundraisers and private donors who make this program possible. Thank you most of all to the officers who protect our community each day and still set aside time to share holiday cheer with kids and families. 🦁🧡 #LionPride #GravetteSchools
Dr. Sherry Whiteman led a session on the cardiovascular system, giving the group hands-on access to an Anatomage machine. This technology simulates a virtual cadaver, allowing the class to examine intricate anatomical details that are usually reserved for university settings. It provides a level of realism that textbooks simply cannot match.
The visit concluded with a knowledge competition where Ian Nelson, Lauryn Taylor, Amylia Vang, and James McNaughton secured the "heavyweight belt" by answering the most questions correctly. Thank you Mrs. Hilger and Mrs. Schaffer for coordinating this trip and helping our aspiring medical professionals see what lies ahead in their education. And thank you to Mrs. Hilger for sharing the story and photos from the trip!🦁🧡 #LionPride #GravetteSchools

Unlike technical agricultural contests, LDEs measure professional aptitude. To rank highly, students must demonstrate mastery in public speaking, critical thinking, and parliamentary procedure. Consistently performing at this level upholds the high standards of the Gravette program, which is recognized as a two-time 3-Star Rated Chapter by the National FFA Organization. The following students earned recognition for their performance:
🏅 Maddi Vollweider - 3rd Place - Prepared Public Speaking
🏅 Chase Gibson - 4th Place - Extemporaneous Speaking
🏅 Maddy Bassing - 4th Place - Prepared Public Speaking
🏅 Jarett Fort - 5th Place - Extemporaneous Speaking & 6th Place Team - Parliamentary Procedure
🏅 Maddie Samuelson - 5th Place Overall - Ag Discussion
🏅 Owen Thurlo - 6th Place Team - Parliamentary Procedure
🏅 Will Gillespie - 6th Place Team - Parliamentary Procedure
🏅 Owen Merworth - 6th Place Team - Parliamentary Procedure
🏅 Ava Brown - 6th Place Team - Parliamentary Procedure
🏅 Colton Bell - 6th Place Team - Parliamentary Procedure
🏅 Brea Holt - 7th Place - Creed Speaking
🏅 Olivia Griffin - 10th Place - Creed Speaking
These results establish a competitive foundation for the season as the group prepares for next month's Sub-Area contest. They are far ahead of the curve developing skills that will serve them well in their futures. GO LIONS! 🦁🧡 #LionPride #GravetteSchools
