🌎 Glenn A. Duffy Elementary had fun Earth Day activities yesterday thanks to The Environmental Club from Gravette High School. This student-led event featured hands-on learning stations, each designed and led by club members with a focus on sustainability and environmental awareness.
Founded in 2020–2021, the Environmental Club has grown into a year-round force for change. They run the GHS recycling program, which has diverted over 1,800 pounds of materials this year, and organize outreach efforts like this.
The Environmental Club began planning the Earth Day event back in December. They said the most rewarding part was connecting with younger students and seeing their excitement grow. These driven young women and men aren't just working toward a sustainable future, they are building habits of responsibility and leadership and modeling that for younger kids. Very impressive work from the club and their club sponsor, Mrs. Cluck! Great work, lions! 🦁🧡 #LionPride #GravetteSchools

🧠 April is Occupational Therapy Month! This month we’re recognizing Miss Annesa and Miss Bree for the work they do to support student growth and independence.
Our occupational therapists help students build fine motor skills, regulate emotions, and meet sensory needs so they can fully engage in learning. They work behind the scenes to help students hold pencils, tie shoes, stay focused, and develop confidence.
Thank you, Miss Annesa and Miss Bree, for bringing insight and care to every child you serve. Your work helps our students grow stronger every day. Thank you Miss Williams for sharing! 🦁🧡 #LionPride #GravetteSchools

🐣 Builders Club members from Gravette Middle School helped make Easter extra special for our youngest Lions at Glenn Duffy Elementary.
Students in Builders Club donated all the eggs and prizes for the kindergarten egg hunt, over 1,800 in total! They helped prepare more than 2,500 additional eggs for Pre-K using family donations. Funds raised through school dances helped support this project and others throughout the year. On Easter, members hid the eggs, cheered on our young students, and helped them count their finds.
A big thank you to these middle school students for leading with generosity and service. 🦁🧡 #LionPride #GravetteSchools

🎖️ Cutter Franks, a senior in the Class of 2025, was recognized yesterday for his commitment to joining the United States Marine Corps.
Last night, he was honored at the inaugural Our Community Salutes of Northwest Arkansas recognition ceremony. The event celebrated high school seniors who have answered the call to serve in the U.S. Armed Services after graduation.
As Cutter shared during his interview with KNWA & FOX24, “A lot of people think we made this decision in a vacuum—nobody knows they're going. Now they're going to get the celebration and the sendoff they need.”

Cutter’s commitment reflects the strength and leadership we strive to grow in all our students. We are proud to stand behind him, and every student choosing a path of service. 🦁🧡 #LionPride #GravetteSchools

🔬 Gravette Middle School students are getting real lab experience in Mr. Leach's classroom! Over the course of seven days, students completed a lab experiment to see how genetic traits are passed through generations. They observed fruit flies with red eyes becoming the dominant population over white-eyed flies—since the red-eyed flies could spot mates more easily and reproduce more successfully.
A small group of volunteers took it a step further with an additional seven-day lab, where they witnessed the development of antibiotic-resistant bacteria! By growing bacterial populations in environments with and without antibiotics, students observed how quickly resistant strains can take over under constant pressure.
Our middle school scientists are learning the importance of effective observation, safety precautions, and how even the smallest changes can shape the future of living organisms. 🦁🧡 #LionPride #GravetteSchools

📚 Happy School Librarian Appreciation Day! Today we recognize the library teams in our schools who inspire curiosity, help students find the perfect book, and share research tools. Our librarians play a key role in every child’s education, and they are greatly appreciated.
🧡 If you see your librarian today, take a moment to thank them for everything they do for our schools! Thank you Gravette Library staff!
