🛡️ The Knights of Columbus in Bella Vista have once again shown their heart for our students. Their recent donation to the Gravette School District Special Education Department will directly support resources for students and staff.
The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic fraternal organization founded on charity, unity, and service. For years, they’ve partnered with schools across Northwest Arkansas, including ours, to help meet the needs of students through proceeds from their community fundraisers.
We are grateful for their continued generosity and commitment to serving others. Their investment in our students helps create opportunities for ALL students. Thank you, Knights of Columbus! 🦁🧡 #LionPride #GravetteSchools

🎖️ Cutter Franks, a senior in the Class of 2025, was recognized yesterday for his commitment to joining the United States Marine Corps.
Last night, he was honored at the inaugural Our Community Salutes of Northwest Arkansas recognition ceremony. The event celebrated high school seniors who have answered the call to serve in the U.S. Armed Services after graduation.
As Cutter shared during his interview with KNWA & FOX24, “A lot of people think we made this decision in a vacuum—nobody knows they're going. Now they're going to get the celebration and the sendoff they need.”

Cutter’s commitment reflects the strength and leadership we strive to grow in all our students. We are proud to stand behind him, and every student choosing a path of service. 🦁🧡 #LionPride #GravetteSchools

🔬 Gravette Middle School students are getting real lab experience in Mr. Leach's classroom! Over the course of seven days, students completed a lab experiment to see how genetic traits are passed through generations. They observed fruit flies with red eyes becoming the dominant population over white-eyed flies—since the red-eyed flies could spot mates more easily and reproduce more successfully.
A small group of volunteers took it a step further with an additional seven-day lab, where they witnessed the development of antibiotic-resistant bacteria! By growing bacterial populations in environments with and without antibiotics, students observed how quickly resistant strains can take over under constant pressure.
Our middle school scientists are learning the importance of effective observation, safety precautions, and how even the smallest changes can shape the future of living organisms. 🦁🧡 #LionPride #GravetteSchools

This week, the School Board and Mr. Gravette joined students and staff at Gravette Upper Elementary for a special breakfast highlighting student leadership. While district leaders enjoyed a nutritious breakfast from the GUE cafeteria, the student Lighthouse Team debuted a video inviting Glenn Duffy Elementary students to form their own Lighthouse Team, sharing what leadership looks like at GUE and how they apply the 8 Habits in their school.
After breakfast, board members toured fifth-grade classrooms to see leadership in action. In Mrs. Riggs’ class, students shared details about their toy drive for Arkansas Children’s Hospital. In Mrs. Renner’s class, students presented leadership projects, including the launch of new student-led clubs such as a Sports Club and a Newspaper Club. The Newspaper Club even distributed copies of their latest issue for board members and students to read. The board then visited Mrs. Hamilton’s class, where students showcased their pop tab donation collection and explained the logistics and impact of their efforts. Other students displayed posters they designed to encourage donations from across the district. The tour continued into Ms. Carreira’s and Mrs. Taylor’s classrooms, where students proudly shared their leadership projects and learning experiences.
Throughout the morning, board members talked to many students, seeing firsthand how leadership is embedded in daily activities at GUE. Students were excited to share their leadership projects and experiences with the school board, gaining confidence in their abilities and seeing that their voices, ideas, and efforts are valued by district leaders. This opportunity also gave them a chance to reflect on what they’ve learned and accomplished, reinforcing the impact of their hard work and the importance of leadership in their school community.
A sincere thank you to the Gravette School Board for taking time from their busy schedules to engage with our students, witness leadership in action, and support the incredible work happening in our schools. Your involvement makes a meaningful impact on our students and staff!
