Bright Futures is preparing early to support families and ensure students have everything they need for the upcoming school year. This program is available to all students enrolled in the Gravette School District, and supplies will be ready for you to collect during the school Open House.
Thank you for partnering with us to build a strong foundation for our students.

๐ Second graders took a walk through town last week to explore the community and enjoy a bright spring day. These Lion leaders deserved a nice break after their end-of-year testing preparation.
The second graders walked to Gravette Upper Elementary, the Gravette Museum, and Arvest. Their route also included stops at Airplane Park, Henzie Art Studio, and the Gravette Public Library. They got to see how these familiar locations operate and meet the people who work there.
Thank you Jennifer Davis for capturing these memories and sharing the story of their adventure. Experiences like this build strong connections. ๐ฆ๐งก #LionPride #GravetteSchools

This experience introduced first graders to practical life skills by turning a necessary adult process into a fun activity. After the lesson, each child chose a vehicle and signed an official title of sale to complete their purchase. They got to bring home their own toy car with the paperwork to match!
These early lessons in planning and real-world processes help explain the world we live in while connecting classroom learning to our community partners. Thank you Mr. Freeland from Adventure Subaru for visiting our school and congratulations to these young buyers for their first ever vehicle purchase! ๐ฆ๐งก #LionPride #GravetteSchools

Northwest Arkansas' Nutty Scientists will lead a high-energy show that turns complex ideas into a memorable experience. Students move from being observers to active participants as they dive into workshops designed to spark creativity and build confidence. It is an entertaining night built around the thrill of finding out how things work and seeing scientific principles come to life.
Let's get ready to flex our thinking muscles with some chemistry and engineering! Join our school community for a night of curiosity and fun, and get ready to see science in a whole new nutty way. ๐ฆ๐งก #LionPride #GravetteSchools

Admiral Alicia commands the cafeteria fleet to navigate the lunch rush with incredible precision. Terri the Titan battles the heat to bake up amazing treats while Dana Dynamo cooks the main dishes like she cooks bad guys. Alongside Meghan Marvel and Turbo Trissy, this incredible squad goes above and beyond to end the crime of hunger!
Today marks the annual School Lunch Hero Day, a celebration held every first Friday in May. This event started in 2013 through a collaboration between the School Nutrition Association and Jarrett J. Krosoczka, author of the "Lunch Lady" books. We celebrate these individuals because their hard work is engine that keeps our schools running. Taking the time to thank our food service staff tells them we see that their care in the kitchen is just as important as any lesson in the classroom.
Real heroics isn't always flashy. Sometimes it looks like patience, reliability, and a job well done. Our food service teams arrive early each morning to prepare a HUGE number of meals while carefully following safety standards. They remember student faces while adapting to dietary needs to keep the cafeteria moving with kindness under a constant ticking clock. We appreciate their effort and everything they do to keep our children fed and focused. ๐ฆ๐งก #LionPride #GravetteSchools

The Accelerated Reader program helps students grow by setting individual targets for books read and mastered. Students practiced their reading daily to earn their marks for the grading period. The kids love getting time with Duffy, and Duffy loves all the attention.
We look forward to seeing more reading progress as we move further into the final nine weeks of the year. Reading every day builds the foundation for future success in every subject. Thank you to the families who support these reading habits at home, and thanks to Duffy for all his hard work. ๐ฆ๐งก #LionPride #GravetteSchools

๐ Students in Mrs. Hunter and Mrs. Caseyโs PreK class explored the daily lives of farmers last week. They learned about the important chores required to care for animals and land.
The whole class practiced milking Bessie the cow and even made their own butter to taste test during snack time. These little lions got a first-hand look at where the food they see on their tables every day comes from! We appreciate Mrs. Hunter for sharing photos of the students' fun learning. ๐ฆ๐งก #LionPride #GravetteSchools

The Artemis II mission, which recently completed its historic journey, is significant because it's the last test flight before a scheduled manned mission on the surface in 2027. This upcoming Artemis III mission will place a crew of astronauts on the moon's south pole for a few weeks, where they will be locating, extracting, and bringing home lunar water ice. Scientists believe this ice could be a vital resource for a future moon base, providing H2O water for drinking, oxygen for breathable air, and even hydrogen rocket fuel for travel deeper into space.
We want to thank Library Media Specialist April Jones and our staff for inspiring our children to learn about the wonders of space exploration. Their work encourages our students to dream big and think about the future of discovery. ๐ฆ๐งก #LionPride #GravetteSchools

Sculptures lined the tables and booths while student artwork covered the walls from floor to ceiling. The displays represented a full year of effort and practice by students across all four schools. High school volunteers in themed uniforms handed out popcorn and balloon animals. Others drew portraits for children at a old-timey portrait station while two student volunteers dressed as a Gravette lion and a circus performer executed stunts for the crowd.
It was a great turnout that provided important recognition for our student artists. Athletes and musicians frequently perform or compete throughout the year. This annual art show gives visual artists their own opportunity to share their progress with the community.
Thank you to the art teachers and staff who collaborated for months to organize this event. Thank you to Ozarks Community Hospital for providing the space, to Skylight Cinema in Bentonville for donating the popcorn, and to the adult volunteers who kept the event running smoothly (and the floors clear of popcorn kernels). We also appreciate the high school volunteers who ran the activities. But most of all, thank you to the student artists who prepared their work for everyone to see! ๐ฆ๐งก #LionPride #GravetteSchools
The younger students practiced conservation by planting their own flowers to take home, competing in sack races to recycling bins, and played cornhole games where high scores earned points for recycling. To learn about keeping our waterways clean, students raced to scoop plastic waste out of a water tub and dashed to bring them to a collection bin. They also enjoyed environmental scavenger hunts, coloring stations, and face painting.
It was a mild, cloudy afternoon with a comfortable temperature to appreciate the outdoor games. The older students led by example and demonstrated to the young lions how our every day choices impact the environment. These activities gave students practical steps to protect natural resources, be mindful of their impact, and clean up when they have the chance.
Thank you to the Gravette High School Environmental Club and their sponsor Mrs. Kedrowski for organizing these activities. We also appreciate the teachers who guided classes through the stations. Learning to care for our natural environment starts early, and these shared experiences help build lifelong habits. ๐ฆ๐งก #LionPride #GravetteSchools

Having older students guide the younger ones reinforces the community and gives the middle schoolers an opportunity to practice leadership and responsibility. It was an egg-cellent week of learning for these early learners. Thank you to Mrs. Archer and her students for taking the time to create a memorable experience for the PreK class, and for sharing these adorable photos! ๐ฆ๐งก #LionPride #GravetteSchools

The evening includes elections for next year's board positions. The parent teacher organization still needs a Treasurer to help manage funds and support school events. Stepping into a leadership role allows you to directly support student success and build strong relationships with teachers and staff.
Taking part in the parent teacher organization connects you with other parents and strengthens our community. We look forward to seeing new faces and working together to plan a successful year for our lions. ๐ฆ๐งก #LionPride #GravetteSchools
