It's time to compete for a good cause, GDE! We will be hosting a Penny War among the classes. Our goal is to raise funds for our local Bright Futures which provides essential support to families in our district. Each class will compete to collect the most pennies, with the winning class earning extra RECESS and POPSICLES. 🎉 This competition starts TODAY and runs through April 30th.
Yesterday, we were blessed with a visit from Royal International Miss' Ms. Arkansas, DaMayla Cowan. She partnered with GDE to share her platform and goal to raise awareness for brain health. DaMayla created an engaging art lesson to demonstrate as well as gifted Mrs. Brown’s students with new art supplies. Thank you for sharing your platform with us and we wish you the best on your journey as RIM Ms. Arkansas!
Each year, our building's staff goes toe to toe in an epic rock, paper, scissors tournament. Congratulations to Ms. Courtney, the undisputed Rock, Paper, Scissors Champion of our halls! 🏅

As the inclement weather continues, we want to assure you that our schools are closely monitoring the situation and following the best safety practices and protocols to ensure the well-being of all students and staff.
Here are some of the measures we are taking:
Weather Alerts: We are staying in close contact with local weather authorities to receive alerts and updates about the weather conditions.
Safety Precautions: All of our campuses and classes are utilizing severe storm best practices and safety protocols. Your child is safe!
Transportation: We are coordinating with our transportation team to make any necessary adjustments to bus routes or schedules to ensure safe transportation for students. We will be delaying dismissal.
Communication: We will keep you informed of any changes or updates through our official communication channels, including the Remind App, our website, and social media.
The safety of our students and staff is our top priority, and we appreciate your understanding and support during this time.

GHS start time has been delayed until 10:00 AM.
Due to a situation in the community, GHS will not start school until 9:00AM today. High school bus riders and teachers will be at GMS and transported to GHS at 9:00AM. High school students who drive their own cars to school may not arrive on campus prior to 8:50AM. GDE, GUE and GMS start time has not changed. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility!
