🎉 Duffy turns ONE next week on Wednesday, August 20! To celebrate, Duffy is inviting friends to give back by donating birthday gifts to the Bella Vista Animal Shelter. We love the care and attention Duffy receives from our families, and this is a chance to extend that kindness to other animals who need our help!

🌿 The Glenn Duffy Elementary Outdoor Classroom is taking shape! The fence is almost complete, and our planning team has been busy designing a place where students can learn, explore, and discover in the fresh air. We cant wait to make this space a hands-on extension of the classroom, and to bring lessons to life in new and exciting ways.
To help make the next phase possible, we’re launching a cozy way to support the project. Our custom Gravette Lions 50x60 plush blankets are just $30, and each purchase helps us finish building this special learning space.

🏫 The 21st Century After School Program program begins Tuesday, September 2, 2025, and serves Kindergarten through 8th grade at no cost to families. The 21st CCLC Program provides afterschool tutoring, homework help, learning, and enrichment time with a certified teacher. Space is limited to 125 students, with applications opening August 7 and acceptance notifications sent the week of August 22.
The program runs Monday through Thursday from dismissal until 5:30 p.m. Attendance is required most days to keep a spot in the program, and all pickups will be through the Upper Elementary car rider line between 4:30–5:30 p.m.

🚌 Bus enrollment and tracking just got an upgrade. Gravette Schools are now using Transact for transportation sign-up and a new mobile app for live bus tracking and notifications.
Families will need to create a Transact account to enroll. A separate mobile app, EZ A2B can now be used to access route information once enrollment is complete. 🦁🧡 #GravetteSchools #LionPride

🏠 Glenn Duffy Elementary will host its Open House on Thursday, August 7th! Families are invited to explore classrooms, meet teachers, and learn more about the 2025–2026 school year.
This event is a chance for both new and returning families to meet the principal, connect with staff, and hear about the programs that shape learning at Glenn Duffy Elementary. Classroom tours will be available, and curriculum information will be shared throughout the evening.

Additionally, classroom assignments will be ready for pickup beginning Monday, August 4, in the front office. Each student will receive a scratch-off postcard revealing their teacher for the year. If you’re unable to pick it up in advance, postcards will also be available at the Open House.

🏈 Our kids made the news last night! KNWA featured the 2025 Gravette Youth Football Camp, where students entering grades 2–6 are working alongside high school athletes to build football fundamentals and teamwork.
This year’s registration fee was a canned or non-perishable food item. These donations will be given to the 58:10 Food Pantry. We're proud of our Lions for giving back and putting in the work this summer on the field and in the community.

📚 Glenn A. Duffy Elementary's little Lions are getting an expanded library selection thanks to a $5,000 grant from the Laura Bush Foundation for America’s Libraries!
With this grant, our library will further develop a refreshed chapter book collection. Currently, fictional chapter books make up just 11% of the library’s offerings. While classic stories remain important, there is a need for relevant and age-appropriate titles that better meet the interests of students. Students and teachers will even get to provide their wish lists to help with the curation of new books.
Behind this grant award was months of research and planning by Library Media Specialist April Jones, who closely reviewed circulation data and collection trends to better align the library with student needs. Her work is exemplary of the precision and care our staff bring to every part of the student experience. This was April’s first-ever grant application, and it was a winner!
