WE DID IT 🎊 Glenn A. Duffy Elementary has received the Arkansas R.I.S.E award! What is that, you may ask? R.I.S.E (Reading Initiative for Student Excellence) encourages a culture of reading by coordinating a statewide reading campaign with community partners, parents, and teachers to establish the importance of reading in schools and homes. Only a select amount of schools receive this award. WAY TO GO, lions! 👏
Last week, 2nd grade went on their walking field trip! Our students walked to Harps, Arvest, and the Gravette Historical Museum. We also had local partners come to us! Henzie’s Art Studio and Gravette Police Officers came and gave presentations in a few of our classrooms. Thank you all for partnering with us and making 2nd grade's last field trip of the year so special!

Check this out STEM challenge! After reading the different versions of 3 little pigs, our students had to create houses out of straw, wood, and brick to see if they would withstand the big bad wolf (aka the hair blow dryer). Nice work, lions!
Pre-K's Luau and graduation on Friday were a success! Due to the rainy weather, things were moved indoors, but that didn't stop our lions from having a blast! Parents, if you would like the individual photo of your child with their Pre-K teacher holding their certificate please contact your child's teacher. We apologize in advance to Ms. Sumter's class as we did not get individual photos. Thank you for understanding!
Lady Lions are STATE CHAMPIONS!! The #1 ranked Lady Lions softball team beat Pea Ridge 5-1 to capture the 4A state title. Pitcher, Brooke Handle was named State Championship MVP. Congratulations Coach Luther, Coach Cole and all of our Lady Lions on your historic State Championship win!!
Student SHOUT OUT 📢 First grader, Magnolia McClain, has been promoted to Junior Librarian! She’s been a huge help to Mrs. Jones & Mrs. Sara this year. Magnolia assists with checking books in & out, processing new books, and helps students locate materials. Thank you, Maggie, for all of your hard work! 📚

As we come to the end of the school year, we have several students across the district that have outstanding lunch balances. Parents, please check your child's lunch balance here: https://www.ezschoolpay.com/Login.aspx
At each campus, we have a Care account where community members can donate money that will be applied to these unpaid lunch balances. It helps to reduce the debt to the student and family. There are several ways you can contribute if you feel led: cash & checks (make checks out to 'Gravette School Food Service" - drop all donations off at the school’s front office and mention it's for the care account) or get in touch with Food Service Director, Sheila, at 479-787-4100 ext. 1101.
