Samantha Morgan has been written into this year's story at Gravette High School with a fitting title: A Cut Above.
Mrs. Morgan is known not just for her expertise in literature, but for her steady presence and willingness to help wherever it’s needed. She was nominated by multiple staff members for the A Cut Above award, which recognizes those who excel in the 3 A’s: Attendance (reliable and present), Attitude (uplifting and positive), and Action (always willing to go the extra step).
Fellow teacher Fernanda Torres shared, “Samantha consistently goes above and beyond for both her students and her coworkers. She is always there to offer advice and direction when we need it most, especially those of us who are new.”
The Gravette School Board, along with Mr. Gravette and Mrs. Mitchell, visited her classroom to present the award and recognize the leadership, encouragement, and consistency she brings to Gravette High School.
Her award, a custom-crafted metal plaque, was built by Mr. Malott and his students in the Gravette High School Agricultural Science workshop. Precision-cut, welded, and painted by hand, it serves as a lasting symbol of Gravette craftsmanship and community gratitude.
From organizing quiz bowl competitions to judging junior essays or helping with last-minute needs, she’s always ready to pitch in. Thank you, Samantha, for being A Cut Above! 🦁 #LionPride

⭐ The Student of the Week for April 28, 2025 is Gabe Carrier! Mr. Bagley said: "Throughout the school year, Gabe has dedicated himself to creating graphics, producing content, and working diligently behind the scenes. " Mr. Carriera said: "Gabe exemplifies the ultimate behind-the-scenes leader, deserving of recognition, even though he prefers to stay out of the spotlight. His proficiency in all his endeavors is matched only by his humility." Gabe, thank you for your steady commitment and the quiet leadership you bring to every project. 🦁🧡 #LionPride #GravetteSchools

Gravette High School has lost power this morning. We anticipate this outage to continue through the school day. Students who drive will be released at 10:45. Parents can check out their students in the regular car rider line starting at 11:00. We have limited communications at the high school, we do not have phones or email at this time. Students who remain at the high school will have lunch and will be bused or picked up at 3:25.

WEATHER UPDATE: This morning we implemented our tornado safety protocol in each building. We sincerely appreciate all staff and students who made this go as smoothly as possible. Everyone was safe and our campus was unharmed. Unfortunately, like many in our area, Gravette High School is without electricity. We hope to have an update soon on restoration efforts. A big thanks to all of our utility workers and first responders as they work through the rain to resolve these issues. We plan to have regular pickup times and bus routes this afternoon. Please contact your child's school if you have to change transportation arrangements for today.

🌍 Gravette High School’s Cultural Festival is tomorrow! Come for the music, food, crafts, games, student presentations, and more! See you there!

🌎 Glenn A. Duffy Elementary had fun Earth Day activities yesterday thanks to The Environmental Club from Gravette High School. This student-led event featured hands-on learning stations, each designed and led by club members with a focus on sustainability and environmental awareness.
Founded in 2020–2021, the Environmental Club has grown into a year-round force for change. They run the GHS recycling program, which has diverted over 1,800 pounds of materials this year, and organize outreach efforts like this.
The Environmental Club began planning the Earth Day event back in December. They said the most rewarding part was connecting with younger students and seeing their excitement grow. These driven young women and men aren't just working toward a sustainable future, they are building habits of responsibility and leadership and modeling that for younger kids. Very impressive work from the club and their club sponsor, Mrs. Cluck! Great work, lions! 🦁🧡 #LionPride #GravetteSchools
