👩‍🌾 Gravette High School kept the Homecoming fun rolling with Farmer Tuesday! Students and staff brought their best barnyard style to school, from flannel and boots to full farm flair.

Yesterday’s winners were Mrs. Mitchell and Madi Schoonover! Mrs. Mitchell’s chicken-patterned overalls stole the show and had everyone smiling. PTO will be rewarding each winner with the candy, snack, and drink of their choice.

The Gravette Lion Invitational cross country meet will be held across from Country View Animal Care Center. Westbound traffic may experience bottlenecks turning onto Stage Coach Road from around 3:20 P.M. through the evening. Volunteers and law enforcement will be directing traffic, but extra travel time is recommended.

🛌 Gravette High School kicked off Homecoming Week with Blue Ribbon Monday - Pajama Day! Students and staff showed their school spirit with everything from cozy flannel to creative bedtime looks.

Today’s dress-up day winners are Elise Graham and Mrs. Hilger! Elise brought vintage bedtime style to life, dressed like Ebenezer Scrooge from A Christmas Carol complete with a nightcap, blue gown, and candle in hand. PTO will be rewarding each winner with the candy, snack, and drink of their choice.

🍬 Today is National Custodian Appreciation Day! Custodians are on the front lines of keeping our schools clean and safe. Their work provides the foundation for healthy learning and helps us appreciate and care for our shared spaces.

Maintenance and Transportation Director Richard Carver and Administrative Assistant Melissa White visited each school during shift changes to present daytime and evening custodians with a special gift! A Gravette-themed bag of sweet treats! The note included in the bag read:

🐟 Outdoor Pursuits students from Gravette High School put their casting practice to work during a fishing trip to Lake Bentonville last week. With beautiful weather and plenty of catches, students found how their outdoor classroom lessons transfer into real-world skills.

Coach Pittman's Outdoor Pursuits course is an education in survival, recreation, and environmental stewardship, and trips to Benton County parks like Lake Bentonville is a big draw for Gravette students. At this park in particular, students can practice fishing for bass, catfish, and bluegill while exploring Osage Park, a regional hub for conservation and outdoor recreation.

Gravette Junior High football has been cancelled tonight and rescheduled for tomorrow, Friday 9/19.

🏈 Before kickoff Friday night, the Gravette Lions honored sophomore teammate Harrison Whitley with a framed jersey presentation that included his #33 jersey, Lion emblems, and a team photo of the 2024 Junior High Conference Champions.

Harrison’s battle with Ewing Sarcoma began when what seemed like a football injury turned out to be something far more serious. Since then, he has faced surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation with the same determination he brings to the field.
