🎗️ Gravette is Going Gold on September 4! We’ll be joining other schools across Northwest Arkansas in recognizing Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Students and staff are encouraged to wear gold or yellow to show support for children fighting cancer and their families. At Gravette Middle School, this is especially meaningful as one of our Lions is currently battling brain cancer.

🎓 Gravette High School senior Leslie Alvarez has earned national recognition for her academic achievements. She received three College Board National Recognition Awards: First-Generation Recognition, Rural and Small-Town Recognition, and School Recognition .

This honor comes on the heels of her selection for Arkansas Girls State this summer, and she has now also been invited to Columbia University’s STARS Fly-In program in October.

Leslie’s hard work and leadership continue to open doors and shine a spotlight on the strength of Gravette students. Congratulations, Leslie! Keep up the great work. 🦁🧡 #LionPride #GravetteSchools

📢 Gravette School District will host a Special Services Parent Night on Tuesday, September 9. This town hall–style event will include information about how special education works in our schools: referrals, evaluations, least restrictive environments, accommodations, modifications, law updates, and related services.

🚗 Gravette High School families and student drivers, here’s what you need to know to keep traffic safe and organized this year:
🚗 Car Rider Drop-off & Pick-up – Use the designated car rider line in the teacher lot on Lion Dr S.
🚫 Do not enter the bus lane marked in orange. This lane is for buses only and is not a car rider pick-up location in the afternoon.
🅿️ Visitor Parking – During the school day, visitor parking is in front of the building on Lion Dr S. For events, these spots are reserved for senior citizens and handicap parking.
🅿️ Additional Event Parking – Use the gravel lot or arena front lot. The arena lot is off-limits after 7:30 am on school days.

🚙 Student Drivers
• Enter the student parking lot from the northern lane only.
• Student parking is in the student/event parking lot by the stadium.
• Please keep the bus lane clear at all times.

🎓 The Class of 2029 took their first steps into high school during Freshman Boot Camp at Gravette High School yesterday! Students met teachers, connected with classmates, explored their new school, and learned what to expect from their first year.

Thank you to First Christian Church and Grand Savings Bank for sponsoring dinner and supporting the mentor training. With guided tours, team activities, and helpful information about courses and routines, the event helped set a strong foundation for the year ahead.

We’re also proud of our student mentors who gave their time to welcome and guide incoming freshmen. Their leadership set a great example and helped establish connections that will last for years. And thank you to Mr. Griffith and student volunteer Allison Arrue for providing photos to help us share the experience. 🦁🧡 #LionPride #GravetteSchools

🦁 Educators from Gravette High School and Gravette Middle School gathered this week for Universal Design for Learning (UDL) training at the Lion Learning Center.

The session brought together general education and special services staff to study how small changes in classroom design can lead to better outcomes for every learner.

Gravette Schools has entered a three-year partnership with CAST, the national leader in UDL, to strengthen instructional practices across the district. Special services is also working with the Northwest Arkansas Education Service Cooperative to provide continued training and support for this work.

Special Education Director Tyler Matlock shared, “We are very excited at what the practices of UDL can do for our students in Gravette Schools. Finding ways to give more access to students of all levels of need in the general education classroom is the goal of our department and district. Partnering with CAST helps us do just that.”
