We will be screening the classic Grinch cartoon while serving hot cocoa to keep everyone warm. Attendees can compete in games for a chance to win trophies and prizes. We encourage everyone to wear their favorite Christmas attire to add to the festive atmosphere.

⛺ The priority enrollment deadline for Camp War Eagle is December 15th. Submitting an application by this date increases the likelihood of being enrolled for the upcoming summer. Families can apply online or request a paper application to begin the process.

🧭 Gravette Upper Elementary hosted its very first leadership camp just before the Thanksgiving break. This event gave students the opportunity to build high-trust teams and collaborate with one another on shared goals.

Young Lion leaders jumped into team-building activities, enjoyed a movie and pizza together, and wrapped up the afternoon by decorating the school for Christmas. This camp was a wonderful community service project that allowed students to give back to their peers.

It was a memorable day full of growth, laughter, and leadership in action. We are grateful to everyone who helped make this experience happen for our students. 🦁🧡 #LionPride #GravetteSchools

🌮 A delicious send-off for the Gravette Upper Elementary staff! The Courtesy Committee and the Watch Dog Dads came together to host a special lunch today, serving up chicken fajitas to celebrate our staff before Thanksgiving Break.

✨ Gravette Upper Elementary students are using their lunch break to build academic skills. Upon finishing their meals, 3rd through 5th graders are opting into multiplication practice or cursive handwriting challenges.

This voluntary practice turns free time into focused learning. These young Lions are choosing extra math drills and penmanship exercises, demonstrating a clear ownership of their own progress.

🎭 The wait is almost over! The Gravette High School Theater fall debut, "The Hamlet Thrill-Ma-Geddon," opens tomorrow, November 8th. This is not the Hamlet you remember. It's an irreverent satire that transforms the classic tragedy into a wildly entertaining comedy.

🥫 Gravette Upper Elementary is hosting its Holiday Food Drive! We’re collecting canned goods and non-perishable food items to share with families in need. Every donation means we're helping just a little bit more to brighten someone’s holiday season.

📚 Yearbook order forms for Glenn A. Duffy Elementary and Gravette Upper Elementary are on their way home! This year’s edition is designed to look like a classic composition notebook and includes a new personalization option.

A new sticker pack is available for an additional $5. This pack includes 8 stickers that students can use to decorate their yearbook, and children will get to pick out their own stickers when the yearbooks arrive.

🎗️ GUE finished up an exciting week of student led learning focused on drug and bullying prevention. Students designed activities to help facilitate powerful conversations around the topics and ended the week focused on the power of partnerships by hosting the Bentonville Police Department in a Red Ribbon assembly.

A special thank you to our partners from the Bentonville PD for making this assembly possible including Corporal Sayer Smith, SWAT and K9 Rock, Detective Quincy Hansen, Bomb Squad and his Boston Dynamics Robot dog, and Corporal Ryan Simmons and K9 Valor

🎗️ The Gravette Upper Elementary lion is participating in Red Ribbon Week. Our mascot is helping students celebrate this week's commitment to a healthy, drug-free life.

Today, Wednesday, our lion and students are wearing boots or Western-themed clothing to "Give drugs the boot." We are excited to see everyone participate in the themes for the rest of the week. Tomorrow, Thursday, is "Peace out to drugs" (Decades Day). The week will wrap up on Friday with "Lei off drugs" (Hawaiian Day).

🎯 Gravette Upper Elementary students recently competed in a Lexia Challenge to see who could complete the most units in our literacy program. The top two classes from each grade earned a fun reward: getting to throw water balloons at Officer Josh and Officer Thomas! (And as for why you're seeing so many cowboy hats.. it was all part of Homecoming dress-up week!)

Lexia is a program our students use on their Chromebooks to build foundational reading skills, one small, focused "unit" at a time. This friendly competition was a great way to motivate our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders to apply consistent effort to their daily literacy work.

This was an entertaining way to celebrate the hard work our students have been putting into their reading goals. We are grateful to our School Resource Officers for being such great sports and helping to encourage children to reach new heights in their education with fun activities like this. 🏀 The Boys & Girls Club of Western Benton County has opened registration for its youth basketball program. Registration is open from now until November 2nd. The cost is $75 per player. Late registrations will begin on November 3rd with a $20 late fee, provided spots are still available.

🚌 During National School Bus Safety Week (Oct 20-24) the Gravette School District Transportation Department, challenged children to think about bus safety and show what they learned. Part of this exercised involved a School Bus Safety Coloring Contest for all K-5 students at Glenn A. Duffy Elementary and Gravette Upper Elementary. Our very own Gravette bus drivers even served as the judges!

Student safety is a shared responsibility. The Gravette School District is grateful for the ongoing partnership with our students, families, and community to reaffirm our shared commitment to the well being of our kids. We urge motorists to be alert, slow down near school zones, and watch for children at bus stops.

Our students should all be well aware that they are expected to wait off the roadway, stay out of the "danger zone" (10 feet around the bus), and always wait for the driver's signal before moving to board or cross the street.
