๐Ÿ”Ž Lucy spent her day near the chicken coop at Gravette Upper Elementary, keeping watch on the feathered residents. She might have gone looking for a few eggs, but decided to wait and let them hatch.

Congratulations to Tina Harris for finding her first. It was her knowledge of our schools that led her to the answer, not just good cluck!

Lucyโ€™s adventure continues tomorrow with a new clue and another chance to win before Homecoming. ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿงก #LionPride #GravetteSchools

๐Ÿฌ Today is National Custodian Appreciation Day! Custodians are on the front lines of keeping our schools clean and safe. Their work provides the foundation for healthy learning and helps us appreciate and care for our shared spaces.

Maintenance and Transportation Director Richard Carver and Administrative Assistant Melissa White visited each school during shift changes to present daytime and evening custodians with a special gift! A Gravette-themed bag of sweet treats! The note included in the bag read:
Custodians are Mounds of help.
You always go the Extra mile and become our Lifesavers when we're in a Crunch.
Custodians like you make a Whopper of a difference.
On Payday Iโ€™m going to ask Mr. Gravette to give you 100 Grand.
Your favorite Nerds.

Our custodians were recognized across every campus. Students thanked custodians throughout the day, and at the high school they received a round of applause for their work. We are grateful for all they do to support learning and keep our schools running smoothly. Thank you Gravette Custodial Staff! The time you give to our community and the work you do for our kids is highly valued and appreciated. ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿงก #LionPride #GravetteSchools

๐Ÿ”ด Gravette Upper Elementary is celebrating International Dot Day on Monday, September 15! Students are encouraged to wear dots to join in this global celebration of creativity, courage, and collaboration.

Dot Day was inspired by the book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds, which reminds every child to โ€œmake their markโ€ and use a growth mindset. This year, our students will add their voices to millions around the world who connect through art and imagination.

Be on the lookout for our GIANT collaborative artwork that will showcase how every small mark adds up to something big! ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿงก #LionPride #GravetteSchools

๐Ÿ›๏ธ Fourth grade students spent the day exploring the Peel Mansion Museum & Botanical Garden in Bentonville yesterday. Students toured the rooms of the famous 1800s home, exploring bedrooms, the parlor, the dining room, and the garden! Each space showed how families of that era lived, worked, and entertained.

The young lion leaders also explored Victorian-era technology during their visit. They tried operating a loom, practiced paper weaving, and worked on period-accurate crafts projects. Outdoors, they joined museum staff for a lively folk dance and placed a brick in the walkway with "Gravette Upper Elementary" etched into the top, now a permanent connection between our school and the history of our region.

The Peel Mansion is operated by the Peel Compton Foundation, established by the Walton family, and remains a popular venue to preserve the regionโ€™s history and share it with new generations. Thank you Bethany Pitts for sharing these photos from Mrs. Robertsโ€™ class. ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿงก #LionPride #GravetteSchools

๐ŸŽ—๏ธ Yesterday, our students and staff wore yellow and gold for Go Gold Day, standing together in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Raising awareness is one way to demonstrate our compassion for children and families who are fighting this awful disease and reminds every student of the importance of kindness and empathy.

Thank you to everyone who showed up in support. Your participation reflects the strength of the Gravette community. When we come together, we send a powerful message of support to families facing the unimaginable. They are not alone. We see their struggle. We will stand beside them in their fight. Please keep these children and families in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this difficult journey. ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿงก #LionPride #GravetteSchools

๐Ÿ’ Did you hear your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married? Turns out theyโ€™re not the only ones. Love is everywhere in Gravette, and plenty of our staff have found the best thing thatโ€™s ever been theirs.

Some stories began in high school, some online, some in a principalโ€™s office, and some have been going strong for decades. Each one reminds us that Gravette is where connections last forever and always.

Congratulations to the happy couples who have made the workplace their home away from home. Your classrooms, gyms, offices, and rehearsal halls are part of your family story. Thank you for sharing your love, your laughter, and your example with our students and community. ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿงก #LionPride #GravetteSchools

Students and staff are encouraged to wear gold or yellow to show support for children fighting cancer and their families. At Gravette Middle School, this is especially meaningful as one of our Lions is currently battling brain cancer.
