📢REMINDER: Fall Festival is THIS Friday from 5-7p at GDE. Tons of candy, prizes, a chili supper, costume contest, inflatable, AND a silent auction. Fun for the whole family! All events are indoors so no matter the weather, we’ll be having a great time! 📢
Come join us! ✨✨
Remember: all proceeds from Fall Festival allow the GDE PTO to support the Glenn Duffy school community for the rest of the year, including a big end of the year gift.
DID YOU KNOW? In Spring 2024, we were able to partner with the GSD Maintenance department and build a sidewalk connecting GDE and GUE for a safer commute to school for walkers, students, and staff. 🖤

Pre-K participated in its annual pumpkin patch last week here at Glenn Duffy! Parents and Grandparents came to enjoy the afternoon in the sun!
The PreK kiddos played in corn, got their faces painted from the Builders Club, learned about pumpkins and critters that help pumpkins grow, played some fun games, and took home a pumpkin.
Thanks to everyone for all the help!

Glenn Duffy Elementary will be holding a virtual Title I meeting on Monday, October 28th at 6:30pm. The meeting will be virtual and the link will be sent out the day of the meeting. There will be a door prize drawing for the attendees, pictured with this post.
Title I is a federally funded program that provides extra academic support to students in the areas of reading and/or math. One of the goals of the program is to improve the academic achievement of the students who struggle the most. The purpose of the title is to ensure that all children have an equal and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education. According to the U.S. Department of Education, students should be able to reach, at minimum, proficiency on the challenging state academic assessments and standards.
More information about this program at Glenn Duffy Elementary will be shared at the meeting.

October 21st through the 25th is School Bus Safety Week! 🚌 🛑
School safety starts at the bus stop. Share these tips with your children:
⌚ Arrive at the bus stop five minutes early.
🚏 Stand five giant steps away from the curb.
🚌 Wait until the bus stops, the door opens, and the driver says it’s okay before stepping onto the bus.
Thank you for working together to keep kids safe! Thank you to our transportation staff for their diligence and service!

In honor of Children's Book Week, Glenn Duffy students are invited to share their favorite book by decorating a tissue box for our Tissue Box Contest! Bring your box to the Library by November 1st to enter the contest. Staff and students will vote on their favorites and winners will be announced on November 8th!
